dirtgirlworld’s get grubby Program

get grubby with dirtgirl and scrapboy at your centre

The get grubby program is an innovative online curriculum subscription service for councils and early childhood centres.
It focuses on sustainability and features never seen before dirtgirlworld video content, activity kits and educator guides designed to encourage active participation in early childhood sustainability learning.

The ten program units cover the 3R’s, saving energy, being water wise, composting, worm farming and growing a food garden…lots of fun and practical activities focused on sustainability and eco celebrations…such as earth day, world water day and world environment day.

We protect what we love!
The new dirtgirlworld get grubby program aims to create a learning environment where sustainability makes sense and everyday behaviours are cultivated.  It celebrates nature and empowers young children to do little things that make a big difference.

The 2013 Digital EMMY award-winning dirtgirlworld is an exuberant celebration of life in the big world outside. It has a contemporary, underlying environmental message – to explore the natural world. It moves kids from simply viewing to doing.

Program objectives and benefits

The get grubby program aspires to create confident, resilient and involved learners by combining play and intentional teaching. It is a holistic approach that recognises that the best outcomes for sustainability learning are achieved through practical activities that engage mind, body and spirit that build everyday behaviours.

dirtgirlworld has created an easy-to-access online program that childhood centres can utilise and adapt to best suit their sustainability education objectives. They can choose units and eco celebrations to inspire participation across a range of activities that can be enjoyed outdoors, indoors and taken home.

The program is a set of guided learning experiences to educate and inspire young children to care for nature. Each unit features hours of practical activities and reward-based content, including educational dirtgirlworld interactive games, video treats and achievement certificates. It is designed to reinforce positive sustainability learning experiences for young children and helps spread the message into their family environment and the wider community.
